Introduction to the Chayah Ministry
MISSION To Teach, To Heal,
To Serve In The Name of Christ VISION The Chayah Healing Ministry is a vibrant, dynamic holistic
worship experience dedicated to helping persons to mature in an healthy relationship with God, self, and others
through corporate worship, spiritual disciplines(personal prayer, bible
study, fasting, journaling, and Christian meditation), discipleship (on-going learning and spiritual
development), fellowship, and outreach(evangelism and missions). PHILOSOPHY The journey begins within with a personal response to the "Gospel of Christ"
to be indwelt by the resurrected Christ and become a faithful follower; the journey then flows outward into community service. Our
philosophy is a simple one: "change the world within, and you will change the world without."

Text: Luke 8:1-15 (The parable of the Sower)
Insights:
The sower is God (Jesus), or any proclaimer of God's truth. The "seed" is the Word of God (v.11). The
"soil" is the spiritual ground, environment, atmosphere or womb that will "accommodate", "nurture",
and allow germination of the planted "seed" or "word."
Four types of soils are described:
(1) seeds scattered "along the path" (v.12) are those who hear the 'word" but the devil snatches it away,
resulting in unbelief; (2) seeds falling on rocks are those who received "seed" or "word" with joy, but
when hardship comes or when they are tested on what they heard, received or claim to believe, they fall away (v.13);
(3) The "seeds" that fall among thorns are those who hear, but as they continue on the journey they allow the cares
of this life, riches and pleasures to "choke" the planted "seed/" or life-giving Word of God. According
to Jesus, these persons "do not mature" (v.14). This present reality (world) is more real to them than God's
kingdom. Thus, the abundant life than Jesus promises eludes them; (4) and the last type of soil is the "good
soil," those with a good and noble heart who not just hear the word, but they retain it over a long period of time through
the 'trials and tribulations' of life. Through their perseverance they produce an abundant crop or harvest (v.5).
Which soil are you?
A prayer in response to the lesson: Loving Creator, prepare the "soil"
of our hearts to receive your holy "seed," your divine truth and promise. Remove doubt, disbelief, and fear. Give
us a deeper love for you than for the things of this world. Grant us the patience, grace and strength to faithfully endure
life's adversities and challenges so that we may produce a rich harvest. We thank you, in Jesus' name. Amen!
